Umika Mediratta Shriram, born in 1990 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, discovered her passion for art at Mayo College Girls' School in Ajmer. She honed her skills at Kala Bhavana in Santiniketan, where she developed her artistic vision. Her work, inspired by nature, intricately weaves together natural elements and human behavior, infusing the mundane with profound charm and value.
Umika's paintings, characterized by psychological abstraction, invite viewers into her imaginative world. Nearly a decade ago, she discovered Thangka painting, an ancient religious art form, and mastered it in Dharamsala and Bhutan. She now represents this tradition with a contemporary twist.
Believing in a life-affirming connection between artist and nature, Umika's work spans painting, photography, installations, and public art discussions. Her semi-abstract creations blend interiority and vitality, driving transformative action and fostering constructive change.
