Lalit Sharma, inspired by his father Ghanshyam Sharma, a master of miniature painting, earned a Master’s Degree in Drawing and Painting from the University of Udaipur. His work frequently features Rajasthan's architecture, Udaipur’s lakes and streets, and scriptural imagery. Combining the miniature tradition with modernist sensibilities, Sharma’s larger canvases employ watercolour, oil, and tempera, suggesting multiple perspectives.
He has received numerous awards, including the Tulika Kalakar Parishad Award, Udaipur Gold Medal, and Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy Award thrice. His work has been exhibited in the UK, Netherlands, Japan, and various Indian cities. His pieces are part of collections at Jawahar Kala Kendra, LKA Jaipur, Taj Group of Hotels, and the New Library in Cardiff. Sharma has also conducted workshops and participated in many art camps.
