Paresh Maity was born in Tamluk, a suburban town near the Bay of Bengal - which the artist has perfectly captured in his watercolor works. Maity has carved a unique place in the Indian art scene for himself. His incredible canvases, with the deep, sweeps and slashes of Colors and geometric straight lines - form the perfect constructs of his subjects.

Paresh is an instinctive master of watercolor, a notoriously difficult medium. His first work of three watercolors was sold for a humble Rs 75 each when he was 18 years old.
